Times Of Swaziland: ‘BIRDS’ WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT MANANA’ ‘BIRDS’ WILL NEVER BE THE SAME WITHOUT MANANA’ ================================================================================ BY SABELO GWEBU on 20/05/2017 10:25:00 (At Mbabane Alliance Church) MBABANE – Speakers described late Mbabane Swallows acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Manana as a people’s person, a unifier and a sportsman par excellence. They agreed Swallows will never be the same without the dearly departed Manana, who died on Friday, May 5 aged 48. The bowels of this earth will this morning open up to swallow a son of the soil, the best football administrator of his generation at Mbasheni, northern Hhohho. During the Memorial Service at the Mbabane Alliance Church, it was revealed Manana had given his life to Christ as His saviour, moments before his last breath. His counterparts and friends Frank Hurube (Royal Leopard), Sandile Gwebu (Young Buffaloes) and Comfort Shongwe (Red Lions) shared interesting stories on their journey. Hurube narrated how the late Manana once promised that he will trek his team everywhere it went ahead of the Ingwenyama Cup and once surprised when he constantly updated him over the phone where they were and what they were doing. “One laughs and cries when going down memory lane and the upcoming PROs have lost a teacher and mentor. Luckily for me, I have sucked little knowledge from him,” said Red Lions’ Shongwe.
