Times Of Swaziland: SIGWACA HOUSE TO RAKE IN THOUSANDS FOR FA SIGWACA HOUSE TO RAKE IN THOUSANDS FOR FA ================================================================================ BY ASHMOND NZIMA on 17/02/2017 01:13:00 MBABANE – The National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) could rake in thousands of Emalangeni from leasing the Sigwaca House wing. The country’s football mother body building, situated just outside the capital city, has been extended following a cash injection of about E7 million from FIFA from a share of the 2014 World Cup bonuses. The structure is nearing completion. Sports, Culture and Youth fairs Minster, David ‘Cruiser’ Ngcamphalala, led a delegation that toured the two-storey building, which is complete with a conference room, shops and kitchen facilities. National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa said the building was an income-generating project for his office and interested businesspeople would be allowed to rent the various offices housed by the structure. Inside the building are up to 10 small offices, a conference centre, sports shop and a restaurant space. There is also space to accommodate up to four big offices. Calculations by this publication have revealed that renting a square metre around Sigwaca can cost up to E60. In essence, the FA can make up to E30 000 per month. “We came up with the idea about three years ago,” said Mthethwa. The minister dubbed the project a great initiative. He said similar programmes helped to lessen the NFAS’ burden so that more money could be channelled towards players’ allowances. Meanwhile, Mthethwa stressed that building more football structures across the four regions remained top priority following the completion of the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium refurbishment. Focus is now on KaLanga in Siteki while the next beneficiaries will be Mkhuzweni in Hhohho. Manzini will benefit in 2019.
