Times Of Swaziland: ‘I’LL RESTORE LOST PRIDE’ ‘I’LL RESTORE LOST PRIDE’ ================================================================================ BY SANELE JELE on 10/01/2017 23:59:00 MHLAMBANYATSI – New Mbabane Highlanders’ Zimbabwean coach, Herbert Maruwa has vowed to be the modern day biblical Moses for the struggling capital city giants. As exclusively revealed by this newspaper yesterday, the former Green Mamba coach, unveiled by Highlanders manager Sihle Dlamini at the club’s training ground at Mhlambanyatsi Sports ground, vowed to restore the lost pride. Like the biblical Moses, he had promised to take the club away from bondage to the land of milk and honey. “I am very happy to be associated with this big team and I honoured to have Mbabane Highlanders have faith in me. I need to work very hard to bring back the glory days at Highlanders and with the support of the management and players and technical bench, we can do it,” said the Zimbabwean mentor. He further said his primary task was to get the team in good shape. “Of course I am here to win trophies but I need to find a winning combination first then we can take it from there. I am happy we have new players who I believe are good and with such quality, we can compete. I am here to restore the lost pride,” said Maruwa. When asked if he was not under pressure to deliver within a short space of time, the coach said he had to burn candles at both ends to get positive results quickly. “This is football, it’s positive results that count. If the results are coming, I would have earned the trust they have in me. The demanding supporters will not have a problem with any coach if a team is winning,” added Maruwa. He further said his experience in local football would come in handy in as far as acclimatising at the ‘Bull’ is concerned. “I have been around for a while in the PLS and I understand it but coaching Highlanders comes with a huge responsibility which I am ready to face,” said the mentor.
