Times Of Swaziland: ZOMBODZE TO JOIN RACE FOR SOCGA MEMBERSHIP SLOT ZOMBODZE TO JOIN RACE FOR SOCGA MEMBERSHIP SLOT ================================================================================ BY SABELO GWEBU on 10/01/2017 23:58:00 MBABANE – Outgoing SOCGA President Zombodze Magagula will battle five other hopefuls in the only four members’ slots available in the executive. The Swaziland Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (SOCGA) goes to poles next Sunday. Also vying for a seat in the only four slots are incumbent SOCGA Board member Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini, former Manzini Wanderers striker, now Swimming Association president, Berger Nxumalo, Taekwondo Red Belt holder Temangcamane Maseko, Louis Nxumalo and Netball Association president Mandisa Sigudla. Having served in the SOCGA Board for 16 years, Magagula is ineligible to contest for presidency, rendering the position a two-horse race between Football Association president Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa and serving SOCGA Board Treasurer Peter Shongwe. Addressing members of the different sports associations who converged at the SOCGA offices yesterday afternoon for the 2017 opening party, Magagula said the day served as his last supper. “The Olympic movement requires change for fresh ideas and I trust you (associations) will vote for people who will carry this organisation forward. Looking at the candidates list, there are equally good or even better people than the outgoing office,” he said.
