Times Of Swaziland: MB. SWALLOWS SEND NGWERUME PACKING MB. SWALLOWS SEND NGWERUME PACKING ================================================================================ BY DUMISANI NTIWANE on 27/12/2014 23:22:00 MBABANE – Red and white glamour giants, Mbabane Swallows have sent gifted Zimbabwean midfielder Alois Ngwerume packing. The ‘Beautiful Birds’, as Swallows are affectionately known to their throngs of followers, have severed ties with the former South Africa’s Moroka Swallows ball juggler hardly half a season since joining them as a free agent. Ngwerume joined Swallows after the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup triumph and was touted as the perfect replacement for then want away midfielder Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, who had spent the better part of preseason training with army side, Young Buffaloes. Ndlovu, however, retuned to his beloved Swallows after the botched move to the army team and the move relegated Ngwerume to the bench. Swallows acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Manana confirmed the latest development yesterday, saying they had to take the decision for the betterment of the club. “I do not want to start painting him black because the truth of the matter is that he did nothing wrong. He is a good player but unfortunately, we had to make space because of the foreign quota. We are on the verge of signing a foreign anchorman and this was a carefully thought out decision. “After careful consideration, we had to sacrifice him. We thoroughly enjoyed his stay with us in the time he was here and as a team we wish him all the best in his future endeavours. This is football, Ngwerume can still bounce back and join us in future as well, one may never know. For now, however, we have agreed to part ways with him,” said Manana. Ngwerume was issued with his clearance and is already out of the country, leaving behind his fellow countrymen in goalkeepers Jim Knowledge and Nicho Francis. The other Zimbabwean in the team is indefatigable sweeper Talent Maphosa. Ngwerume follows in the footsteps of another Zimbabwean Kudzanayi ‘Vibes’ Matanda, who was recently released by the team. He could not be reached for comment at the time of going to press yesterday.
