CHILDREN FIGHT OVER PROPERTY HOURS AFTER MVILA’S DEATH

SITEKI – Just hours after his death, a fight is said to have ensued over some
property of the late former long-serving Siteki Town Board Councilor, Mvila
Dlamini.
An impeccable source close to the matter divulged that the former councillor’s
children were allegedly fighting over some of his property, resulting in a door
in one of Dlamini’s homesteads being vandalised. The homestead is situated at
Mlindazwe, an area within the town’s periphery, a few kilometres from the
Siteki Town Central Business Disctrict (CBD).  The incident happened last week
Tuesday, hours after the death of Dlamini. The late councillor was buried on
Saturday at Mlindazwe.
It was established that the cause of the feud was a birth certificate of the
deceased, which was wanted by one of his daughters. The source claimed that the
daughter stormed the homestead of her late father in the company of police
officers. This is the home where her stepmother resides with her (daughter’s)
siblings. “The daughter wanted a birth certificate and other documentation
from the stepmother, including bank cards. However, unpalatable words were
uttered in the heat of the moment, which left everyone shocked,” alleged the
source. The matter was then reported to the police.
The late Ward 3 councillor had served as the town’s councillor for 35 years.
It was established that the Siteki Police Station also took guns belonging to
Dlamini for safety purposes. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer
Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the matter. “There is a case that
was reported about family differences and the guns of the deceased were also
taken by the police for safety reasons as a norm in such situations. We will
await the family’s decision but the firearms will continue to be kept at the
police station. We have been informed that an employment car was used after an
officer asked to be dropped home, however, not knowing that there were
unresolved issues within the family that erupted thereafter,” she said.
The wife to the former councillor, who was only identified as LaSimelane,
claimed that one of the deceased’s children came and forcefully took her
husband’s birth certificate. LaSimelane accused her stepdaughter of also
uttering unpalatable words which cannot not be repeated for ethical reasons.
