Times Of Swaziland: 2 MORE DEATHS, 59 NEW CASES 2 MORE DEATHS, 59 NEW CASES ================================================================================ BY MELISA MSWELI on 07/08/2020 00:50:00 MBABANE – The Ministry of Health announced two new COVID-19-related deaths yesterday, bringing the total to 55 in the country. The cases were confirmed by the Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi. The deaths were both women aged 78 and 30 respectively. The first death was of a 78-year-old woman from the Manzini Region, who died while admitted to a health facility on Sunday in an unstable condition. Her results, according to the minister, came back positive for COVID-19. The second death was of a 30-year-old woman who died while admitted as a confirmed COVID-19 case on Wednesday. The minister said the deceased had known pre-existing illnesses. Cases Meanwhile, there were 59 new COVID-19 cases that were recorded yesterday. The cases were discovered from 370 tests. This means that the total number of COVID-19 cases is 2 968. Hhohho Region recorded 29 while Manzini had 18 and 12 from the Lubombo Region. Also, asymptomatic cases were 22; those with a mild disease were 27 while both moderate and severe cases were five each. By gender, there are 1 557 females cases in total while males are 1 411. The youngest reported cases yesterday were three in the zero to nine age bracket and the oldest being same figure in the 70 to 79 years bracket. There were 91 new recoveries that were registered yesterday. The total number of recoveries now stands at 1 476. This means that active cases are 1 437 while deaths are 55.
