Times Of Swaziland: DON’T PANIC - COVID-19 POSITIVE ZION DEACON DON’T PANIC - COVID-19 POSITIVE ZION DEACON ================================================================================ Sibusiso Shange on 13/07/2020 08:50:00 MBABANE – A Zion deacon says, in as much as people need to adhere to all precautionary measures related to COVID-19, there is no need to worry after testing positive for the virus. Justice Fakudze, a priest assistant, who looks after the welfare of congregants at Ekhenyeni Church in Zion, spoke boldly after testing positive for the virus. In an interview yesterday, Fakudze said all people needed to do was to adhere to all the precautionary measures put in place to minimise the spread of the virus. He said by the precautionary measures, he meant washing hands with clean running water and soap, sanitising, wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, exercising and eating healthily. State He said people should not worry or blame themselves or others once they tested positive for the virus. However, the staunch Christian was quick to state that as a believer, he believed it was high time he demonstrated his faith in God. He said what mattered most was his trust in Christ than stressing about the virus. Fakudze said when he became a Christian, he knew he would die one day. He said it was for that reason he prepared for eternal life. “I was not told when and how I will die but the fact is I will die one day. Testing positive for COVID-19 has not caused me any panic. To me, COVID-19 is like all diseases just as we have seen HIV/AIDS, Ebola to mention a few,” he said. He said as a believer, what mattered the most was his treasure in Christ as he believed in life after death. He said he was proud that contracting the virus was not as a result of his wrongdoings or wickedness. He stated that he adhered at all the precautionary measures meant to minimise the spread of the virus at home, work and church. Fakudze said the positive result was a wake-up call to work for eternal life. However, he stated that he would follow all the precautionary measures as provided by the Ministry of Health without stressing about the virus. Response Fakudze was asked about the events leading to the discovery of the virus in his system. In response, he disclosed that he was a father to one of the NDMA employees who tested positive for the virus last week. He said his daughter was tested and isolated at home pending her results after one of her colleague tested positive. Fakudze said his family was tested during the contact tracing.
