Times Of Swaziland: 4 ADMITTED AT MAVUSO 4 ADMITTED AT MAVUSO ================================================================================ BY KWANELE SIBIYA on 04/06/2020 05:40:00 MANZINI – Four asymptomatic patients have been admitted at Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre for quarantine. This was confirmed by the Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi yesterday. According to Nkosi, a decision was taken by the Ministry of Health that the patients would remain within the facility until they had fully recovered from the virus. She also disclosed that many patients would be admitted going forward. Isolation She explained that the Mavuso quarantine centre was an extension of government hospitals which would be an isolation centre to treat asymptomatic or patients showing mild symptoms of the novel coronavirus. “We have staff members from the TB hospital in Manzini. TB patients have been moved to the Nhlangano TB Hospital, and day patients will continue at the TB centre in Manzini,” Nkosi said. When quizzed on how the patients would be provided with refreshments, she said they would continue with caterers that were cooking for TB hospital patients who would be in charge of catering for the patients. She further mentioned that the laundry for the patients would be done at the TB Hospital, while the TB Hospital is being renovated. Doctors Nkosi was further questioned on the number of patients who would be admitted at the quarantine centre and she said it will be as the doctors deem necessary. “We have space for over 100 beds,” she said. On another note, the minister mentioned during a tour wherein the Prime Minister Ambrose Mandvulo Dlamini was checking the progress of the quarantine centre that the facility would be broken down into different wards with new patients separated from those who have already started receiving treatment. “We also have areas for our staff to change and shower before and after they attending to patients,” said Nkosi.
