REV PERCY DIED RETURNING FROM ISREAL

MBABANE – Rev Advocate Percy Mngomezulu died while returning from a tour of
Israel to appreciate the journey of Jesus Christ on earth.
This was revealed by Alliance Church Pastor Johannes Mazibuko who said Rev
Mngomezulu and others were part of Christians who journeyed to Israel to
appreciate the biblical and historical heritage sights. He said Rev Mngomezulu
enthusiastically wanted to be part of the trip this year.
He was speaking at Mngomezulu’s memorial service at the St Marks High School
hall yesterday.
The trip to Israel, according to Mazibuko, was on May 13 to 23.
“Every year he had asked about preparations for the trip until finally we
decided to embark on it together with other believers.
He said while there, Rev Mngomezulu was able to travel the long distances and
appreciated the land, though sometimes, because of ageing, he seemed fatigue.
“When we came back, he insisted on going to work but his wife advised him to
rest. Then on a Tuesday he fell ill. On Wednesday he was transferred to SA and
after that he was put on life support until the last day of his life,” Rev
Mazibuko said.
Upon arrival in Eswatini, he is said to have complained of abdominal pains and
drove himself to MediSun in Ezulwini.  From there he was treated, but later-on
he was transferred to the Milpark Hospital in South Africa, where he died while
receiving treatment on July 6, at the age of 83.
Rev Mazibuko said while in Israel, Rev Mngomezulu demonstrated profound
knowledge of the historical events such that he could at times even tell the
guide what should happen next.
While we were with him there were many things that he spoke, which were clear
indications that they were his last words on earth.

He read from Hebrews 12 verse 22 which reads: “But you have come to Mount
Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to
thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,  to the church of the
firstborn, whose names are written in Heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of
all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a
new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the
blood of Abel.”
Meanwhile, all speakers during the memorial service spoke of Rev Mngomezulu’s
dedication to God and how he longed to spread the gospel to everyone.
Sibongile Mbingo, who spoke on behalf of the Ezulwini Town Board, where
Mngomezulu was Councillor, said the advocate had always advised his colleagues
to refer to the law when taking decisions.
“He also had a high level of emotional intelligence and was motivated by
solving conflicts,” she said.
Former Justice Minister Rev David Matse, who spoke on behalf of the Law Society
of Swaziland,  comforted the Mngomezulu family and said the deceased was now in
a better place.
