This means that the hotel would be fully operational, according to the Minister of Public Service, Christian Ntshangase. Ntshangase announced the good news to the nation during a press conference held at the Public Service Pension Fund conference room yesterday morning. Worth noting is that the hotel is set to start operating in a month where the Hilton Garden Inn family will be celebrating 100 years of existence globally. Admiration The minister, who was filled with admiration after touring the state-of-the-art facility, said government was pleased that the eight-storey building was finally complete. He said government was also pleased that the hotel would satisfy the international industry standards. “Get me right, I am not officially opening the hotel but I am announcing the opening date. The official opening is reserved for higher authorities,” the minister said before continuing with his speech. Ntshangase said government was delighted that the multi-million Emalangeni property had been initiated by the PSPF, which was a parastatal under the Ministry of Public Service. “PSPF has a very good track record of successful investments in various portfolios including property. We therefore have no doubt that this structure which is nestled at the heart of capital city will also have successful operations as the nation edges closer to its vision of attaining the First World Status,” he said. The minister said it was government’s goal to continuously pursue projects with unmatched economic value proposition. He said the State was quite optimistic that the hotel would consistently generate positive returns which were key towards the overall socio-economic development of the country. “This will be achieved by demonstrating excellent customer service and ensuring that the facility is always kept in the best condition for guests to enjoy a memorable experience. “Quality in a service or a product is not what you put into it but what the customer gets out of it,” he added. Dedication The excited minister said government believed that clients would have a great experience through the dedication and commitment. On another note, it was stated that through partnering with the Hilton Garden International, government had created over 100 jobs for the nation. The jobs include managers, supervisors, cleaners, waiters, waitresses, drivers, receptionists and security guards among others. Minister Ntshangase said the creation of jobs showed that the parastatal had partly fulfilled the State’s vision of the building,” he said.
