SUDDEN CHANGE IN SIBAYA AGENDA

LUDZIDZINI – The nation was yesterday left both puzzled and disappointed when
the Sibaya agenda was set out for them.
This reality was laid out to the masses at 11:52am when Indvuna Sifiso Mashampu
Khumalo informed them that the King had asked the nation to get him an assistant
who could get on with the task at hand.
As a result, Khumalo, who is also the Attorney General (AG) told the nation that
there had been a selected group of men and women who would make individual
presentations and they would be given 10 minutes each.
He at first was not specific on who these men and women were, but all the
speakers turned out to be either senators or Members of Parliament (MPs) with
the exception of Swaziland Sugar Association (SSA) Chief Executive Officer Phil
Mnisi and Supreme Court Judge Phesheya Dlamini.
Assigned
Khumalo said the King had assigned him, Indvuna Lusendvo Fakudze, Indvuna of
Mbekelweni Themba Ginindza, the King’s Private Secretary Mbongeni Simelane and
Sihle Dlamini.
He also said the King had also roped in National Secretary Nhlanhla Dlamini, who
would report to him on the proceedings.
Khumalo said the main topics to be discussed by the chosen speakers included how
the country could improve its political and economic situation.
He said the speakers would analyse the situation and without necessarily
directing them on the topics to address, but could also make suggestions on how
the country could make more revenue without reliance on the Southern African
Customs Union (SACU) receipts.
He said they could also address issues of food security, including how the
country could produce surplus for export and job creation issues. At this point,
some of the people shouted; “akusiko loko lesitengako” (this is not what we
came here for).
They said they wanted to submit the names of the people they thought should be
PM.
However, Khumalo continued to state that the speakers could also address issues
of the education system, in particular reference to free primary education (FPE)
and social grants.
He also said the speakers could also address the issue of the recently opened
Royal Science and Technology Park and how the political system of the country
could be improved.
