Times Of Swaziland: OVER 35S CAN APPLY FOR YOUTH REVOLVING FUND OVER 35S CAN APPLY FOR YOUTH REVOLVING FUND ================================================================================ BY SIBUSISO SHANGE on 11/10/2018 05:32:00 MBABANE – Age will no longer be an obstacle for people who want to benefit from the Youth Enterprise Revolving Fund (YERF). The YERF was established with the aim of alleviating poverty through job creation among the youth under the Ministry of Sport Culture and Youth Affairs. The good news for the aspiring small businesspeople was announced by the YERF Chief Executive Officer, Bhekizwe Maziya, during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Swaziland Industrial Development Company (SIDC) yesterday. Maziya said the signed agreement between the two companies meant that the beneficiaries of the fund would be transferred to the SIDC once they were above 35 years. The age limit for youth is between 18 and 35 years. He said this was to ensure that people who missed opportunities due to unforeseen circumstances continued to access loans to establish and operate their businesses. Maziya said the YERF forged the relationship, which worked towards empowering emaswati after availing opportunities to all companies in the country. Speaking on behalf of SIDC, the Chief Executive Officer, Phiwayinkhosi Ginindza, thanked the YERF for affording them an opportunity to facilitate the growth of the country’s economy through empowering the youth. Ginindza said the 30-year-old company, which had created 12 000 jobs in the country, had not only supported the YERF with money, but also with experts who would work hand in hand with the entrepreneurs. “We hope to have a good working relationship as we fight unemployment, which is high among the youth. We hope our partnership will create more jobs that would provide employment for the unemployed youth,” he said. Ginindza said investing in youth entrepreneurs would help the country come up with great leaders in the future.
