RODGERS SURVIVES NASTY CRASH

MBABANE – Former Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development Rodgers
Mamba has suffered a double loss.
Fresh from losing in the Primary Elections, Mamba was involved in a nasty
accident that left his vehicle damaged yesterday along Elangeni Public Road at
around 4pm.
Mamba is lucky to be alive after his car was involved in the accident with two
other vehicles, which were also badly damaged.
The former minister is said to have been rushed to the Manzini Clinic following
the accident, while the driver of another vehicle, a Ford Ranger, which was also
involved in the accident, who was identified as a Central Bank of Eswatini
employee was rushed to the Mbabane Clinic.
It was reported that the driver of the third vehicle, a white Isuzu van, was
taken to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital.

Sergeant Nomcebo Vilakati, a traffic police officer at the Lobamba Police
Station, who was found at the accident scene, said the white Isuzu van which was
pulling a trailer was heading towards the Manzini direction and it is suspected
that its driver lost control of it and veered into the opposite lane, hitting
two vehicles that were in the Mbabane.
Vilakati said they were, however, still carrying out investigations on the exact
cause of the accident as no one has been charged.
She said there were no passengers in all three vehicles and all the drivers
escaped with some injuries.
According to Vilakati, the drivers of the vehicles were immediately whisked to
different hospitals in the country.
Her sentiments were shared by eyewitnesses, who were found at the accident
scene. Mduduzi Matsenjwa, who was herding cattle in the nearby fields across the
road, was the first to arrive at the scene.
Matsenjwa said the white Isuzu which was pulling a trailer veered off the road,
hitting the guard rails before it overturned. He said the Ford Ranger, which was
heading to Mbabane, hit the Isuzu which had overturned on the road, while the
other van which followed the Ranger also hit it from behind.
