Times Of Swaziland: MAN CAUGHT TRYING TO RAPE 23-MONTH-OLD MAN CAUGHT TRYING TO RAPE 23-MONTH-OLD ================================================================================ BY ANDILE NSIBANDE on 11/07/2018 04:40:00 MASEYISINI – An alleged predator was stopped dead on his tracks from raping a baby shortly after taking off her diaper. It took the vigilance of the baby’s aunt to save the 23-month-old baby from the clutches of the would-be rapist, in a shocking incident which sparked the outrage of residents at Maseyisini, outside Nhlangano, where it occurred. The incident, which could have been one of the most horrifying cases of rape ever reported in the kingdom, was stopped from taking place on Monday, shortly after 10am. Residents said the accused had already removed the baby’s nappy when he was caught holding on tight to the undressed baby, who he had placed on his laps. He was seen trying to penetrate the infant, and screams from the two women who saw the man about to commit the evil deed, apparently at first could not deter him. The pair later confronted the man, Muzi Ngcobo, who apologised, saying he didn’t understand what had got into him when he decided to force himself onto the baby. While the two women were talking to him, the accused took to his heels but was later caught by a resident who chased after him. Police were called to the scene and the man was led away into a police van after showing investigators the nappy which he had removed from the baby. The 22-year-old man, who is employed in the timber industry as a labourer, was detained at the Nhlangano Police Station where he was subsequently charged with the offence of indecent assault.
