Times Of Swaziland: ‘GAYS, LESBIANS CANNOT BE GIVEN FREE REIN IN ESWATINI’ ‘GAYS, LESBIANS CANNOT BE GIVEN FREE REIN IN ESWATINI’ ================================================================================ BY SITHEMBILE HLATSHWAYO on 26/06/2018 03:54:00 EZULWINI – LGBTIs cannot be given a platform or have any authority over Eswatini. This was a comment made by Prophet Khulani Mamba, who spoke in his capacity as a man of God. He was making declarations in Ezulwini during the annual prayer services held at the umphakatsi on Sunday. This statement comes amid the Swazi Pride main event which intends to host a march to raise awareness in order to be recognised on Saturday June 30, 2018. “We say no to homosexuality, this country will not tolerate the LGBTI community,” Prophet Mamba announced. In vernacular he said “Lelive lakaNgwane angeke liphatfwe ngema gays and lesbians,”. LGBTI is an acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI). Declaration Mamba made the declaration to the applause of the over 300 Christians who had gathered at the umphakatsi to attend the services to pray for the community and the country. He said as prophets, when they declared some of these things, it could get them into trouble. However, he said it must be known that he was not speaking as a police mouth piece but on behalf of God, in order for the country to retain its moral fibre. He said the bible in II Chronicles 7:14 stated that; “If the people who were called by my name can humble themselves and pray, I will hear them and forgive their sins.” Mamba said we were living in a time where there was no truth in the pulpit because of fear.
