Times Of Swaziland: COURT SUSPENDS ALL HIRING AT SEC COURT SUSPENDS ALL HIRING AT SEC ================================================================================ BY MBONGISENI NDZIMANDZE on 09/05/2018 01:23:00 MBABANE – Are you looking forward to attending an interview or taking up a new post at the Swaziland Electricity Company (SEC)? The court has suspended all hiring processes in the company. The suspension comes after one of the employees of the electricity company yesterday filed an urgent application in the Industrial Court after she was allegedly sidelined for the post of Senior Accounts Officer for the Lubombo Region. She alleged that the company excluded her by adding requirements she did not possess. According to the advert for the post, one must have a Degree in Commerce/ Accounting/Marketing. The interim order staying and suspending all process of conducting interviews, recruitments and resumption of duty of anyone was issued by Industrial Court Judge Dumisani Mazibuko yesterday. Tevangeli Dlamini, who is Regional Accounts Officer for the Lubombo Region, wants the court to declare that the variation of the requirements for the post of senior accounts officer to include a degree in accounting was an unfair labour practice designed to discriminate her. The recruitments, appointments and interviews have been stopped pending finalisation of Dlamini’s application in the Industrial Court. She averred that an appointment of anyone into this position other than her would be an incident of unfair discrimination, much against the long established promotion practice. “I have been informed and do believe that an officer from Shiselweni has already been earmarked for the advertised post and the internal advertisement is just a mere brainwash not only to me but to whosoever will be interested to apply,” argued Dlamini.
