MANZINI – The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) caught wind of the work
Pastor Bakhe Dlamini was currently doing in the country.
His work has been described as ‘barrier breaking’, with regard to the
family, marriage and child welfare issues he tackles openly.
Dlamini has on many occasions created much dialogue on social media with regard
to his stance on gender roles.
While being explicit as a minister of the gospel that wives should submit to
their husbands, he is also explicit that men should love their wives as Christ
loved the church.
Last Friday, the pastor was interviewed by BBC Presenter Matthew Bannister.
BBC found Dlamini’s story inspiring, especially to other men, where he openly
tells them to be loving and caring in order to be interesting and be heroic.
The pastor was given a call, inviting him to conduct a telephonic interview in
which he was asked about the work he is doing at the South tip of Africa. The
interview was carried out at Lusweti Studios.
“Tell us, pastor; are you troubled by the issue of the absent dad syndrome in
Africa in your country?” Bannister enquired during the interview.”
Dlamini responded, “Yes. It is not just a Swazi issue, but a global one.
According to global statistics, most households are run by women. Many a times,
men relinquish their responsibility in the home.”
