Times Of Swaziland: GUARD HACKS COLLEAGUE MISTAKEN FOR INTRUDER GUARD HACKS COLLEAGUE MISTAKEN FOR INTRUDER ================================================================================ BY JABULISA DLAMINI on 14/02/2018 00:51:00 MANZINI – A security guard’s first day at work turned to be a nightmare after he was allegedly hacked by a colleague while executing his duties. The hacked security guard had not been formally introduced to his colleagues, and as such, no one knew him. The victim was hacked with a bush knife several times all over the body after being mistaken for an intruder or thug. The gruesome incident took place at Taga Investments, the candle making factory where a robbery of E320 000 took place in 2016. According to well-placed sources, Mshiyeni Nhlabatsi (66), employed by Swaziland Security Guards, was previously stationed at the Swaziland Action Group Against Abuse (SWAAGA) offices before he was ordered to go to Taga, where he was expected to relieve another security guard. He said last Tuesday, he received an order from his supervisors to go and look after businessman Thomas Albrecht’s place, which included a workshop and a place where diesel was kept among other places. Nhlabatsi said instead of reporting for work at 5:30pm, his transport on the day got delayed and he found himself arriving at Taga Investments at around 7pm and found the gate locked. “I was with one of my supervisors and after discovering that the place was locked, we found a board with a number which we dialled. Immediately, a man identified as Bennett emerged to welcome us. I was shown around and ordered not to come near a place where there were pit-bulls and Albrecht’s residence,” Nhlabatsi, who had just been discharged from hospital said. He added that Bennett told him that he would be orientated the following day and left him to do his work for the night. “In the middle of the night, I wanted to relieve myself as I was pressed. I went to a nearby building where sensor lights went on. That is when another security guard, who was carrying a torch and bush knife, emerged and started assaulting me with it. I tried screaming to alert him that I was also a security guard who had been assigned at the place by his bosses but he did not listen and continued assaulting me,” he alleged.
