This time, a farm worker allegedly killed his employer in cold blood by hacking him with a slasher before cutting off his fingers. According to the police, the gruesome and brutal incident took place at the volatile agricultural town of Vuvulane on Sunday. Sibusiso Sandile Malindzisa (32) of KaBhudla allegedly killed his boss, farmer and businessman Phanuel Vilakati. The two were reportedly arguing over unpaid salaries and the theft of some items from the farm when Malindzisa became agitated and allegedly hacked Vilakati to death. However, in a confession statement made before a judicial officer, Malindzisa alleged that it was Vilakati who first assaulted him and then he retailed by hacking him with the slasher. This allegation is yet to be tested in court when trial commences. Vilakati’s body was found within the premises of his farm on Monday, a day after he had been killed, reportedly by people who had come to check on him, sources alleged. The people who discovered the body quickly called the police, who are said to have promptly arrived at the farm and collected evidence at the murder scene. A source who saw the body said it had multiple injuries on the head, gaping wounds on the face and the fingers were cut off. Following investigations by the police, Malindzisa was apprehended on Monday and was subsequently slapped with a murder charge plus another charge of theft.
