Times Of Swaziland: POLICE CLEAR ‘TSOTSI’ IN VICTOR ASSASSINATION CASE POLICE CLEAR ‘TSOTSI’ IN VICTOR ASSASSINATION CASE ================================================================================ BY THEMBINKOSI MAVIMBELA AND LINDELWA MALINGA on 01/02/2018 01:08:00 MBABANE – The police have indeed come out to clear the air that Advocate Mduduzi ‘Tsotsi’ Mabila was not questioned in the Victor Gamedze murder case. This clarification was made by the National Commissioner of Police, Isaac Magagula, during a press conference held at the Police Headquarters yesterday. “There is no evidence suggesting that Mabila has something to say about this case,” Magagula said. Magagula was responding to a question regarding an article published by this newspaper last week where the advocate had made it succinctly clear that he had neither been arrested nor questioned by the police regarding Gamedze’s death. The commissioner said their meeting with Mabila should not have connotations that he might be involved. Magagula did not dispute anything Mabila said in the story and added that he articulated what transpired pretty well. In the news article, Mabila said he was never at any stage questioned or arrested by the police with regard to Gamedze’s murder as suggested on social media platforms. Magagula stated that this was the reason they refrained from announcing names of those whom they interviewed regarding the matter. He said they may still call others to help them with the case but the public should not have the perception that the called individuals were suspects. He clarified that it was not everyone whom they spoke to who was a suspect. Without making reference to Mabila, Magagula appealed against making comments in the media for grandstanding purposes. He was concerned about people who said one thing about the police in the media only to later somersault when approached to validate their claims. He was equally concerned about individuals who cast aspersions on the ongoing investigation by insinuating that the police arrested the wrong suspects.
