Times Of Swaziland: TRAFFIC COPS LEFT ME FOR DEAD – EX-COP TRAFFIC COPS LEFT ME FOR DEAD – EX-COP ================================================================================ BY NTOMBI MHLONGO on 11/01/2018 00:45:00 MBABANE – He was sitting in his car waiting to know why a police officer had stopped him in the middle of the road when suddenly he heard a loud bang. The loud bang was followed by a huge stone which almost crushed his forehead and the next thing he remembers was waking up in a hospital bed. Gill Ndwandwe, a businessman from Pigg’s Peak, has lived to tell the tale of how he almost lost his life when he was attacked in the presence of two officers, allegedly clad in uniform, who had stopped him right in the middle of the road. What surprised him the most was learning that the two officers, instead of assisting him, locked themselves in their vehicle, sped off and left him for dead. The incident, he alleged, occurred at Dark City near Sidwashini, when he was driving from Makholokholo together with his fiancée and a relative in his car, a grey Mercedez Benz registered KSD 027 AH. Interestingly, the businessman is a former traffic police officer, who resigned after having served for eight years. Narrating the ordeal, Ndwandwe said it was at around 10:30pm on October 29, 2017 when he was driving around Dark City and came across two police officers whom he said he believed were going about their official duties. He alleged that one of the officers was sitting in a police vehicle while the other was attending to another car. Both police officers are known to this publication but will not be named as yet.
