Times Of Swaziland: FEMALE BOXER’S ALLEGED MURDERER KILLS HIMSELF FEMALE BOXER’S ALLEGED MURDERER KILLS HIMSELF ================================================================================ BY SIBUSISO ZWANE on 11/01/2018 00:38:00 MALKERNS – Female boxer Delisile Msibi’s alleged murderer has killed himself after surviving a gunshot in a chase by the police. The incident took place in the wee hours of yesterday at Makhungutsha in Mankayane, where the suspect was allegedly hiding. A well-placed source said the police received a tip-off that the suspect, estimated to be in his mid 20s, was hiding in a homestead in Makhungutsha and they followed the lead early yesterday morning. However, when the police arrived at the homestead, they found that the suspect had already escaped. The source said suspicions were that the suspect saw the police when they were approaching the homestead. The source said a thorough search by the police ensued and they spotted him fleeing and they chased after him. The police fired warning shots in a bid to stop him but in vain as he continued to flee. “Thereafter, the police shot him in the leg; he fell but managed to get back on his feet and fled before the police could apprehend him,” the source said. He said the suspect took a direction towards the homestead and entered into a one-room flat, which belongs to his friend and allegedly swallowed an undisclosed number of weevil tablets which were inside his bag. The source said the police found him groaning on the floor with a strong stench of the weevil tablets. The source said it was then that they rushed him to the Mankayane Government Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival. Information gathered from the family where he was staying was that he asked to visit his friend and suggested that they skip the country to seek jobs in the neighbouring South Africa.
