Times Of Swaziland: SPTC SCREAMS MURDER SPTC SCREAMS MURDER ================================================================================ BY SIBONGILE SUKATI on 08/12/2017 01:15:00 MBABANE – If you have something important to say or sell you need the right platform. This is exactly what the Managing Director (MD) of Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC), Petros Dlamini, did when he had his moment in front of the Prime Minister (PM), Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini yesterday. The MD wasted no time in expressing his company’s frustration at the granting and anticipated granting of fixed line licences to mobile operators. The MD said such a move would not be fair to SPTC because it was not yet free to venture into mobile operations. “If the mobile operators venture using the latest technologies called LTE into fixed line business while SPTC is not free to go into mobile, then SPTC would collapse,” he said. Recently, Swazi Mobile launched its fixed wireless landlines and Swazi MTN had also indicated that it would venture into a similar line of business next year. The SPTC MD made these remarks yesterday morning at the Cabinet offices during the official launch of the e-Government siSwati Name and Slogan Competition. While making his remarks, the MD clearly saw it fit to feature a subject that he felt would make the operations of SPTC vulnerable. The MD made these remarks in the presence of Swaziland Communication Commission (SCCOM) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mvilawenkhosi Dlamini and Swazi Mobile’s acting CEO Wandile Mntshali. . . .
