Times Of Swaziland: COPS ARREST NIGERIAN PROPHET, BODYGUARD COPS ARREST NIGERIAN PROPHET, BODYGUARD ================================================================================ zBY PHEPHILE MOTAU on 03/03/2016 23:54:00 MBABANE – A Nigerian prophet and his bodyguard were arrested by the police for being allegedly in the country illegally. Prophet Peter of Glory of Lazania Church is currently in police custody. He made a brief appearance at the Mbabane Magistrates Court yesterday. However, he did not appear before a magistrate. The prophet was arrested on Wednesday and spent the night in prison. He was charged with contravening the Immigration Act. The same pastor was also arrested and charged with the same offence last year in August. He was found guilty and fined E500. Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Khulani Mamba confirmed the prophet’s arrest. Prohibited “He is a prohibited immigrant as he does not have proper authorisation for him to stay in the country,” Mamba said. The prophet, who was arrested and charged for being in the country illegally, and his bodyguard assaulted a Times of Swaziland reporter yesterday. Prophet Peter and his bodyguard were at the Mbabane Magistrates Court when they assaulted the reporter who was trying to take, a picture of them. The reporter, Sibusiso Shange, saw the pastor around the court premises and took a picture of him. The duo confronted him and asked why he was taking a picture of the prophet. The prophet and his bodyguard went on to assault Shange. He was reprimanded by the police who were escorting him, as they put handcuffs on him. Shange ran towards a courtroom with the bodyguard in pursuit. He went inside the courtroom, and the bodyguard went in after him. He threatened Shange and grabbed him by his shirt and trousers and also throttled him.
