Times Of Swaziland: DAY-LONG LOAD-SHEDDING DAY-LONG LOAD-SHEDDING ================================================================================ BY NCAMISO MHLANGA on 26/02/2016 03:36:00 MBABANE – The Swaziland Electricity Company (SEC) is effecting day-long load-shedding due to problems caused by a scheduled maintenance programme that is being carried out by ESKOM at the Normandie-Nhlangano 2 line. In a statement, Sifiso Dhlamini, the Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, said: “SEC has initiated load-shedding. The planned shutdown will continue from today until Monday, February 29, 2016. This situation has put the electricity network nationwide under extreme pressure. As a result, SEC is effecting day-long load-shedding as per the attached schedule to avoid system collapse.” Dhlamini said the situation was made worse by the fact that SEC currently did not have the option of internal generation as all its four power stations were shut down due to the prevailing drought.
