The ratings were done by an American online forum, ABCNewspoint. They claimed that they considered the latest rape statistics all over the world. The forum made the list of the top 10 countries with rape cases. It described rape as forced sexual intercourse, which included psychological coercion as well as physical force. It was stated that while it also contained homosexual and heterosexual survivors, most of the survivors were females who have been forcibly penetrated by any individual or group of men. Neighbouring South Africa was said to have the highest rape cases in the world followed by Botswana and Lesotho. “The sovereign state in Southern Africa, Swaziland, is another country among those which have highest rape crime all over the world. The latest statistics showed that the crime rates including violent and non-violent crimes increased in the country in the past few years and the most reported cases are residential burglary and non-residential petit theft,” the report stated. It was stated that rape cases were also common in this region and registered cases were 77.5 among 100 000 people, which was high as compared to other countries. South Africa, Botswana and Lesotho are said to have 132.4, 92.9 and 87.2 rape cases per 100 000 citizens, respectively. “Crimes are more common in the country and statistics revealed that it had a very high rate of murders, assaults, rapes and other crimes contrary to most of the other countries like the rape incidents are nearly 132.4 per 100 000 citizens, which is quite higher,” the report stated about South Africa.
