Times Of Swaziland: MINISTRY OF JUSTICE OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY - PERCY MINISTRY OF JUSTICE OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY - PERCY ================================================================================ BY PHEPHILE MOTAU on 17/03/2015 01:12:00 MBABANE – Government Spokesperson Percy Simelane has said the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs seemed to be out of touch with reality. Simelane was responding to a statement made by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Sibusiso Shongwe in yesterday’s publication. Shongwe had said he was shocked by utterances made by Prime Minister Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini in parliament on Friday. Dlamini was confirming the presence of challenges in the country’s Judiciary. The PM spoke during a portfolio committee debate on the annual performance report of the private and Cabinet Office (PM’s Office). Simelane said government would not entertain Shongwe because there was already a cabinet committee working on the ministry’s issues. “For now government will not entertain him since there is already a cabinet team looking into the issues of a ministry that seems to be out of touch with reality,” Simelane said. The minister, during an interview with this publication, said he was certain that the prime minister, as a leader of government, knew where he was expected to make such utterances than to do so in a public domain such as parliament. The PM said, on Friday in parliament, he would not resign from his position because he was sure that Cabinet would get to the bottom of the challenges in the Judiciary. This he said after Lobamba Member of parliament Michael Masilela had said the PM should resign if he could not salvage the Judiciary from the alleged mess. It was reported that during the ministry’s portfolio committee debate, Shongwe, admitted to not having an input in the ministry’s 2014/15 performance report or budget.
