Times Of Swaziland: SIPHO MAKHABANE IN COMA AFTER CAR CRASH SIPHO MAKHABANE IN COMA AFTER CAR CRASH ================================================================================ BY STANLEY KHUMALO on 29/12/2014 03:57:00 MBABANE – Swazi-born gospel super star Sipho ‘Big Fish’ Makhabane is in a coma after he was involved in a nasty car accident in Middelburg, South Africa yesterday. Makhabane, who is popularly known as Big Fish in the music circles, is said to have been seriously injured when his vehicle, a Mercedes C200, skidded off the slippery road following the heavy rains. According to Cynthia Matsenjwa, who is the General Manager at Big Fish Music, the gospel music guru was en route to Delmas to attend a church service when the accident occurred. “He is in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) at Life Mid Med Hospital,” Matsenjwa said. According to a close ally of the gospel artist who, however, preferred not to be named, the heavy rains being experienced in South Africa contributed to the accident. The close friend of the Ebenezer hit maker said the luxurious German-made sedan skidded off the road whereupon Makhabane sustained a knock to the head but according to doctors there were no fractures. He said Makhabane was travelling alone when the accident happened. At the time of compiling this report, the close friend disclosed that about 200 people were already at the hospital, including Swazi gospel artists, to give moral support to the businessman and gospel music producer. The Council of Churches President, Bishop Steven Masilela, confirmed knowledge of the accident. He said he had scanty details but appealed to the public to pray with the Makhabane family during these trying times. “We are praying for his recovery,” Masilela said.
