Times Of Swaziland: No need to write a Swazi dictionary No need to write a Swazi dictionary ================================================================================ The editor on 10/08/2013 01:00:00 Sir, There is no need to write a Swazi dictionary for the meaning of public officer or office. Whether the Swazi Constitution says it or not, Common Law has the final meaning of the public officer / office and the opposite of these are private officer / office. Therefore, Cabinet Ministers of the Crown are public officers and occupying public office and cannot be nominated while still in these positions and offices. How have Swazis now forgotten when the late Andreas Fakudze, Paul Shabangu and Bheki Dlamini acted as Caretaker Premiers? This was done to allow former Cabinet Ministers of the Crown to be nominated, if they wanted. Defending Those who are defending the nomination of these ministers are merely trying to defend their wrongs when drafting the Constitution and thus claiming that it came from outer space. Why are they making a mess of the elections? They are trying so hard to flout all the electoral laws and cause confusion. By the way, why are the people going for the maximum number of nominees in these categories? Could this be indicative of a process that does not have benchmarks of the quality of the nominees? Or are they driven by Circular No1 of 2010 and current salaries of the politicians? This has increased the expense of producing ballot papers, other logistics, management and operations of the elections funds that should have been channeled to projects to empower the community. Mbho
