Times Of Swaziland: ‘POLITICIANS FIRST TO RECEIVE VACCINE’ ‘POLITICIANS FIRST TO RECEIVE VACCINE’ ================================================================================ The Editor on 26/01/2021 00:12:00 Sir, The decision by government to make the vaccine available first to politicians is a clear reflection of where their priorities lie. It is very easy for them to make life altering decisions without considering the plight of the poor. The acting prime minister should have said that they, as the elite, would use our hard-earned taxes to provide themselves with the vaccine. This is sad and very painful. Quite frankly, they should be ashamed of themselves. It means the nurses are telling the truth that they are not, together with the majority of the people in this country, a priority in as far as government is concerned. Procured This vaccine was procured at the price they paid for because it was for ‘emaSwati’, but clearly the sellers were duped. Mgubho Ginindza NOTE: In an article published in this publication yesterday, when queried what informed this decision, Director of Health Services Dr Vusi Magagula did not wish to divulge the reasons, stating that it was premature. “I will not divulge details on this because the National Vaccine Development Plan hasn’t been passed by Cabinet,” the director of health said.
