Times Of Swaziland: FAREWELL TO A VIRTUOUS WOMAN FAREWELL TO A VIRTUOUS WOMAN ================================================================================ The Editor on 06/07/2020 00:30:00 Sir, Phindile Weatherson was an epitome of humanity; practically without malice and could hardly hurt a fly. With a smile permanently etched on her lips, Phindile was serene and seemingly unassuming. How can one write about such a woman in the past tense? But the reality of life is that this eminent woman of great accomplishment has passed on to be with her creator, leaving her horde of admirers dejected. However, centuries ago, the English poet, John Donne, made death look ordinary when he penned’ “Death be not proud, though some have called you the mighty, thou are not.” Admired She was a woman of all parts; a sister, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a mother and above all a woman of virtue. To any part, she was admired, trusted and, above all, loved. Phindile was sincerely kind hearted. She was classless, she shook hands with people left right and centre. In good conscience, normally, such gestures never went unreturned by her. Phindile towered above her generation. She was down to earth and a humanist. She related with everyone who came her way with the same measure of respect and conviviality. She was essentially unique in her commitment to serve humanity. Her types are rare because she radiated love and tranquility. Lost Our community has lost an educationists and developer par excellence. She was a mother to the motherless, a sister to all and a worthy hero who towered above her generation. She lived for all without discrimination. We all, who knew her, shall miss her wise counsel, love for humanity and spirituality. She remains alive forever in our memory. Whether you were looking at her from near or far, there was always something for you to take away. Her sense of simplicity was truly infectious and amazing. She remains a colossal and she lives in our hearts forever. May her gentle kind soul rest in peace. Colleen Matsebula
