Times Of Swaziland: USDF SHOULD CONSIDER UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES USDF SHOULD CONSIDER UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES ================================================================================ The Editor on 06/12/2017 03:14:00 Sir, Over the years, as I was in high school, I watched and hoped that the Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force would find other alternatives in recruiting aspiring soldiers. Some of us go to tertiary institutions first before applying to be soldiers. By the time we are done with our studies and decide to join the army we are told that we do not qualify to join the army because of our ages. I would like to take this opportunity and plead with the defence force’s top brass to consider the extension of the recruitment age to 35 years for college and university graduates. This should be applicable only when it is time for them to recruit skilled personnel. The reason I am requesting this is because there are so many desperate unemployed graduates in the country who could be of great service to the USDF. May the Umbutfo Swaziland Defence Force please give us the 18-35 years youth a chance to serve our country. When considering this request they must also look into the issue of experience. By so saying I am asking that professional experience must not be a prerequisite in the recruitment exercise. Unemployed graduate
