These are teachers who provide learners with intellectually challenging experiences in an innovative and supportive environment. These are exemplary teachers who actively engage learners in the learning process and foster a learning community. CATEGORIES The foundation will award teachers who are best identified by the following categories: MOST SUPPORTIVE TEACHER Awarded to a teacher who shows exceptional commitment to learners’ welfare and personal development. The teacher goes out of his/her way to help/support learners through difficulties with their course, so that they can have an enjoyable learning experience. This award aims to recognise academic in counselling/pastoral role. MOST ENTHUSIATIC TEACHER Awarded to a teacher who demonstrates enthusiasm about their particular subject, creating an exciting and inspiring learning environment for learners. Their enthusiasm and passion for their subjects encourages learners to seek out further learning. Offers intellectually challenging experiences to learners which are deemed enjoyable. MOST INNOVATIVE Awarded to a teacher who uses innovative methods to enhance the teaching of the subject. Uses new methods to enhance learners’ interaction/engagement, helping make the topic or subject make sense to learners or engage their interest. COMMUNITY SERVICES Awarded to a teacher who engages him/herself in community services. EXTRA CURRICULA ACTIVITIES Awarded to a teacher who has passion for extra curricula activities such as sports and cultural activities. Encourages learners to develop entrepreneurship skills. RETIRED ADMINISTRATOR Awarded to an administrator who has left a legacy in the education fraternity through visionary leadership. RETIRED TEACHER Awarded to a teacher who went the extra mile in educating learners and left a legacy in the education profession. ACADEMIC RESEARCHER Awarded to a teacher/lecturer who is passionate about researching academic issues and has produced research thesis. AUTHOR OF SCHOOLS’ TEXT BOOKS Awarded to a local author who has written school text books to be used in the education curriculum of Swaziland. This year’s teachers’ awards will be held on October 22 at Sibane Hotel in Ezulwini B Khumalo
