Times Of Swaziland: MQOLO PRIMARY PARENTS DEMAND KEYS FROM HEAD TEACHER MQOLO PRIMARY PARENTS DEMAND KEYS FROM HEAD TEACHER ================================================================================ BY SIBONGILE SUKATI on 07/05/2019 03:32:00 MBABANE – Meanwhile at Mqolo Primary School, parents want the school keys from the head teacher. Following claims that the school had been without water for the whole of the first term and some months of the third term last year, parents decided to put aside their busy schedules yesterday, while demanding the Head teacher Archie Thwala to step down. The parents made it clear that they wanted nothing to do with the head teacher of the school anymore. The issue of water was so serious that for the whole of last term the pupils had nowhere to relieve themselves and further had no clean drinking water. Police officers were eventually called to the school to ensure that there was no violence during the protest. The angry parents, who were shouting at the entrance of the school, pointed out a number of grievances which among them was the shortage of water, where they said the duration was too long. They alleged that water supply was disconnected because the school had not pay bills amounting to E75 000 since last October. They went on to claim that the head teacher would come with 25 litre buckets to collect water from the school. “Health clearly states that people should practices hygiene when coming from the toilet, how is this possible for the pupils when they do not even have a drop of water?” asked one parent. Even pots used by the school were in the list of grievances, which they alleged that one of them disappeared from the school and what was surprising was that the head teacher was not doing anything about it. One other thing was the fencing of the school, and the maintenance of the grounds, which they said according to the financial report, money amounting to E70 000 was recorded as expenditure for maintenance.
