MBABANE – South African music legend Sizwe Zako will be in the country to
teach musicians how they can be successful in their music careers.

This will be during the Third Annual Music Workshop to be held at The George
Hotel in Manzini on June 6, 2013. The workshop was launched in 2011 and first to
facilitate it was Nqubeko Mbatha and his wife Ntokozo.
In 2012, Israel Mosehla was the facilitator during a workshop that was attended
by over 200 musicians.
This year, Zako has been confirmed as one of the facilitators and would be
joined by Mosehla who will be coming for the second time.
Target
Nhlanhla Gamedze, the event coordinator, said they were targeting mostly praise
and worship singers and band members of the different churches around the
country.
“This year, we have asked Zako to come and inspire artists, especially those
who are in the Gospel Music Industry. We want Zakho to help them identify their
weak and strong points while still in this industry,” he said.
He said those who would attend the workshop would also get the opportunity to
perform with Zako and Mosehla.
“After the workshop there would be what we call the jamming session where the
artists would get the opportunity to sing alongside Zako. In the process, as a
producer, he would take time to see if there is any artist to give a contract
to.”
Register
Gamedze said interested artists should start registering and they are expected
to pay E150, which is a participation fee.
“Registration has been opened and we only have space for about 400
participants. We encourage the artists to start registering now as we will not
be adding more participants,” h e said.
Zakho is not new to the local Music Industry as he took part during the Gospel
Talent Search Show held three years ago.
This is where songbird Sinethemba Dlamini won a recording deal with Zako. He
also worked with Healing Waters when they recorded their album which featured
the song ‘Uhlalehleli’.
