Certified DJ Bellinda Chester has secured a collaboration with South African duo
Mellow and Sleazy, Sizwe Alakine, and Umthakathikush. The upcoming single is
titled ‘Koti Koti’ and is scheduled to be released on December 1. Fans can
currently pre-save the song on various digital platforms including Spotify,
Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, Soundcloud, and Tidal. Bellinda Chester is a
local female DJ, who has had the opportunity to perform alongside renowned
artists such as Bizizi, Leehleza, Vetkuk and Mahoota, Lesego M, Big Nuz, Ezra
MacG, AP Yanos, and Sizwe Alakine, among others. In an interview, she expressed
her gratitude for the chance to work with such esteemed South African musicians
on their new Amapiano song. She stated: “I feel blessed. Everyone who
contributed to this project is truly an amazing and talented artist. So I have a
lot of confidence in the body of work that we created. I can’t wait for
everyone to hear it.”
Chester also mentioned that this project marks the beginning of her music
journey in the Amapiano genre. She expressed excitement, saying: “I’m really
excited about this project dropping because it’s going to be the start of my
musical journey in the Amapiano space. It’s the beginning of many more
incredible collaborations to come. Working with and observing other artists has
also inspired me to create my own solo music.” When asked what she would say
to encourage her fans to listen to the new single, Chester emphasised that they
would enjoy the song. She addressed her fans, saying: “To all my fans, music
is the most important thing to me. I truly hope you enjoy everything that is
coming. I need your support now more than ever. Please stream the song as much
as you can. The project will be released on December 1. There’s already a
TikTok sound available, so create dances to it and let’s make this one a hit
for Eswatini.”
By collaborating with Mellow and Sleazy, Sizwe Alakine and Umthakathikush,
Chester is following in the footsteps of her close friends Uncle Waffles,
Lyrikal Busta, !Sooks, Manana and Sands. These local musicians have also had the
opportunity to work with international artists. Collaborating with international
musicians provides an advantage as it allows artists to expand their fan base
abroad and gain recognition from a wider audience.
