In an exclusive interview on Saturday with South African (SA) Inkabi Nation’s artist Xowla, he shared that he will shoot visuals in Eswatini for a collaboration he is working on with SA’s DJ Tira. Born Xolani Tshabalala, is signed under Inkabi Records. He is from Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal, a province named in honour of the end of the siege of Ladysmith, SA during the Boer War. Xowla started pursuing his music career back in 2008 while he was still in high school, he started recording in 2012. Achievements One of his achievements, include being a producer for SA artist Mduduzi Ncube’s ‘Langa Linye’ and ‘Angsakhoni’ songs. He also collaborated with Big Zulu for their hit song ‘Ivolovolo’ where he is the hook killer. The artist is currently working on a song with DJ Tira set to be released in October this year. This was revealed by Xowla in an interview with this publication during their introductory performance at Sibebe Resort in courtesy of Sibebe Fitness Weekend Experience on Saturday evening. The artist did not want to share the title details of the song just yet, in a bid to make the official release special. “Eswatini is full of love and appreciation, so doing a visual shoot here is definitely a must. I’m interested to include the scenes shot here in Eswatini as part of the video just to show the appreciation and give back to the people of Eswatini, for the support they give to us. I’m already working on the track and I’m still yet to reveal the title in the coming days” Xowla said. When asked about the exact dates for the visual shoot, Xolwa pointed out that it will be determined by the release date of the single, however, he gave an estimate of the date. “I will have to drop the single first and then an official announcement will surely be made for everyone to be able to come. I would love to do the visual shoot here ( Sibebe Resort), this is a beautiful place which has a swimming pool, and it’s a vibrant song so we might have girls in the pool and take good videos. I think the video will be shot around October 20 this year, which will depend on the track being released on time” Xowla said. Collaboration He went on to reveal what inspired the collaboration with legendary SA DJ. “DJ Tira is a ‘ghost’, he has been around for a long time in the industry and he has never fallen off in the music scene. So artists like us, look up to musicians like him for inspiration. I think it’s about time I do a song with him since he has achieved a lot, and I also want to achieve most of what he has” Xowla said. During their introductory performance at Sibebe Resort, Xowla came with Inkabi Nation’s Siya Ntuli and Lwah Ndlunkulu who also performed live. The artists could not hold their excitement about being in the country again. “We are so happy as Inkabi Nation to be back again in the country, it feels like we haven’t travelled since we already feel at home here in Eswatini. The crowd greatly inspired us today as we were performing, they showed us love and their response shows that they really love us” Ntuli said. Lwah Ndlunkulu also shared her experience about coming back to Eswatini, “I can also say that I am delighted to be here for the second time, we are looking forward to have fun with the people of Eswatini as Inkabi Nation” Ndlunkulu said.
