Celumusa’s outstanding performance has landed applauses from Zolani Mkhiva and Namibian DJ Siya. This was after his performance at Evolve Studios on Sunday. Zolani Mkhiva is a famous praise poet who used to be the former South African President Nelson Mandela’s Poet Laureate. His reaction read, “lovely rendition compatriot, talented patriot.” While DJ Siya cheered by attesting on how amazing the performance was, he went on to commend Evolve Studios for the smooth production. Celumusa brought along his pianist Dennis Ndzimandze to his 48 minutes set. songs They kicked off the show by performing cover songs; their first song was dubbed ‘Nomkita’ by Musa, followed by ‘Made in Africa’ from Stephen Marley. The last two covers were pieces by Bob Marley an Icon Celumusa takes inspiration from, these covers were dubbed ; ‘Three little birds’ and ‘Redemption song’. While viewers were sharing their fire and heart emojis , Celumusa shared one of his original songs titled ‘Buhle Buyeza’ The song was composed as a theatre play theme song and it featured Qibho Intelektual. Celumusa surprised his viewers as he showed off his rapping skills; he sang Qibho’s verses while strangling his guitar. ‘Buhle Buyeza’ was followed by ‘Imali Yami’ which is a house song featured in by Namibian DJ Siya. The song was released last year December and it was featured in DJ Siya’s 2020 Kabunya album. The song was performed at a slow tempo, with Dennis marveling on the keys. Their last song titled ‘I love you’ left the viewers astonished, a song from his 2019 Extended Play (EP) dubbed ‘Tears’. interview In an interview with the man of the moment Celumusa, expressed his excitement and thanked Evolve Studios for giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent. “The crew that I have worked with is amazing; these guys are bringing something positive. The current COVID-19 pandemic halted so many plans in the entertainment industry. Evolve Studios is giving local artists the platform to showcase their talent,” he said. He went on to share that he will be dropping more projects featuring well-known artists from Botswana. Evolve studios is an entity whose services include film, broadcast, photography rentals and sales, as well as production services such as, live to screen, live-streaming, production crew, graphic design, social media marketing and management. The company is Directed by Lunga Shongwe and Ntsandvoyenkhosi Magagula, who are in a bid to save the entertainment industry, through providing a digital platform for artists to showcase their crafts.
