The song rose gradually to claim the top spot, displacing five-week chart-topper ‘Emadlelweni’ by MBO and Symphony. About 20 artists from Eswatini under the banner Eswatini Artists Ensemble collectively topped the weekly Eswatini Top 20 charts with their collaborative song ‘Asibemunye’. ‘Asibemunye’ was recorded at Claiming Ground Records, and was produced by Mozaik the Producer. The song, which currently enjoys massive airplay locally and in South Africa, has garnered over 12 000 views on YouTube in one month. Some of the artists who are featured on the song include Bholoja, Nothando Hlophe, Velemseni, Phathwakahle, Gcina Masuku, Mozaik, Floewe, Symphony, Mandisa, Popzin, LK Baba, King Terry, Msimisi, Nomvumelwano, Bishop Bheki Khanyile, Msizi, and Yemaa, among others. Eswatini Artists Ensemble was assembled by two of the country’s biggest music and arts associations SWAMA and ACAESWA. moved Meanwhile, MTN Spotlight 2019 winner Llucid moved four plays up to number two with his latest single ‘Note to self’ as Quad Element landed a top three spot with the song ‘Hlala nami’. Three new entries debuted into the charts being Kygo and Tina Turner for a 2020 remake of the latter’s all-time favourite ‘What’s love got to do with it’ at number 20; while M Nation and the Shepard Brothers debuted songs ‘Ng’tjele straight’ and ‘I Care’ at numbers 19 and 18 respectively. M Nation features South African artist DJ TPZ on his track, while the Shepard Brothers feature MTN Spotlight 2019 finalist Mvelo on theirs. The chart show is compiled and co-presented by Lindelwa ‘Lindz’ Mafa and Bongani ‘DJ Tizalami’ Dube, and they currently use a social distancing method of presenting with one presenter in the studio and the other presenting from home, thanks to modern technology.
