Recent years have seen tremendous growth in the local arts industry, particularly music. This has seen the birth of so many brands, which have treated the masses to nothing but the best of entertainment. Wednesday night saw the unveiling of yet another new kid on the block, Yemaa, whose face was officially unearthed in an epic online brand reveal concert. The show was facilitated by Platinum Concepts with assistance from Daniel Toro TV (DT TV) and was hosted live at one of Eswatini’s scenic venues. Yemaa shared her musical talent with the masses, accompanied by the popular S-Cubed Band as she rendered musical material, which was not limited to tracks from her upcoming album. The album is under construction by the award winning Claiming Ground Records, which has seen the rise of artists such as Nomalungelo Dhladhla, Mozaik the Producer, KrTC as well as their well-loved group, Siyinqaba. “We would like to encourage people to like the page Yemaa on Facebook,” said Khulekani ‘Karly B’ Mamba, who is the Creative Director at Platinum Concepts.Style and elegance was the order of the evening as the new kid on the block, Yemaa, officially launched her new brand name online. The artist’s real name is Nompendulo Nsibande, popularised through the 2019 The Spotlight event made brighter by MTN Eswatini, where she was one of the runners up. “Over the last couple of months she has proved beyond any doubt that she indeed has arrived, and the world better be ready,” stated Mamba. In an interview with the Entertainment Desk, Yemaa revealed that having run under a different alias, Aaliah Longfeather for a while, she saw the need to rebrand and reintroduce herself in style, so to give the people a clear impression of what they should expect from her henceforth. The event dubbed ‘Online Reveal Concert’, which was live on her Facebook page included electrifying performances of her original material from her upcoming album as well as a cover of Beyoncé Knowles’ ‘Get Me Bodied’, who she admitted was her greatest influence. Beautiful Yemaa also gave a beautiful rendition of ‘Sabelani’ by Idols South Africa finalist, Lloyiso Gijana, which is a call for action against the abuse of women. She wrapped it up by appreciating all the parties that made the Online Reveal Concert a success, including, Emfuleni Lifestyle for the venue, Platinum Concepts for sound and backline, Daniel Toro for video production and live streaming, Ziyawa Kazitha for the sound engineering, Mozaik The Producer in the audio mixing department, S-Cubed Project who served as the band, FROGGZ on the graphics as well as Kusekhaya on still photography and Bubu Hlophe, who did the make-up.
