MBABANE – Eswatini award-winning singer, actress, and voice over artist
Nomzamo ‘Zamo’ Dlamini has brought new visuals for fans to enjoy.
The four minutes, 21 seconds visuals dropped last Saturday were recorded by Hot
Sauce Productions.  The opening of the song sees the artist driving through a
neighbourhood and reminiscing on her childhood as children of different ages run
around playing games.
She also appears wearing a gorgeous Ndebele dress with a red A-line bust and
sleeves, which was designed by Kalahari Fashions based in Midrand, South Africa.
The video, which was recorded in Mabopane, Pretoria follows the release of
another video titled ‘Tinyembeti’ from the same album, which was released in
2018 and sits at 155 000 views on YouTube
Released
Both songs are from her second album titled Inhlanyelo ‘The Seed’ released
on the same year as the Tinyembeti video.
In the video, the story follows Zamo (31) as a successful businesswoman
reminiscing on  some of her childhood memories.
Speaking to the Entertainment Desk, the songstress revealed that the video also
features her daughter, Gabriella, who stars as a young Zamo in the video.
“My daughter has an interest of being in show business just like me, which is
why she agreed to be part of the video,” shared Zamo.
She revealed that the children who were featured in the video were from a dance
academy in Soweto.
She also shared that in the video, lessons such as the separation that happens
through life’s events entails how Zamo meets her childhood sweetheart as an
adult only to find that he is married, dashing her hopes of rekindling their
relationship.
“The inspiration to the video came from the games the we used to play while
growing up, so when SubJams played the idea for me, it was the first thing that
came to mind when we ran with it,” she added.
Dropped
Upon the release of Cabhocabhozi, Zamo took to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
announcing that the video had officially dropped.
Zamo shot to fame in 2004 through her single Kwentenjani, which went on to
become one of the most popular songs in Eswatini at the time.
The musician has enjoyed the spotlight in different forms as she was a member of
Joyous Celebration for the past four years before pursuing her solo music
career.
She also graced multiple stages such as MTN BUSHFIRE and many other South
African stages as well as being a presenter for SABC.
