Times Of Swaziland: SLOTTA’S SONG FEATURES ON FRENCH RADIO SLOTTA’S SONG FEATURES ON FRENCH RADIO ================================================================================ BY THEMBELANI NHLABATSI on 30/06/2020 00:20:00 MBABANE – Despite the COVID-19 lockdown, local entertainers are doing anything to put the country on the map. This has been evident in local DJ Slotta, whose real name is Nicholas Dlamini, who had his song featured in a French radio station. Slotta is an Eswatini-born DJ and vocalist, who lives in the capital city, Mbabane. The name of the radio station is Radio KC, which is an eclectic channel with a link in over 223 countries worldwide but is, however, based in Ermont, France. Ermont is a town in the northern suburbs of Paris, which is located 17.2 km from the center of Paris and has around 28 000 inhabitants. The song is a remix for Lars Behrenoth featuring Sinan Baymark, titled ‘Miss the Things’, which is a project he did in 2019. Lars Behrenroth is an artist born in Germany, who has been living in Los Angeles in the United States of America since 2004. He is a producer, record label owner, radio host and all around Deep House DJ. Featured In an interview with the Entertainment Desk, the DJ shared that the song had been shared with the radio station by a South African DJ, who also coincidentally featured Slotta’s track in his set. “The radio station then alerted me by sharing a tweet, tagging my name in the process,” he said. “Having my music featured on international platforms will remain a humbling and overwhelming experience,” shared Slotta. Slotta’s star has been on the rise ever since he got into music in 2013 as he also revealed that one of the mixes he had done for a 18-year-old DJ, whose real name is Judy Jay, was featured on her mix, which played on 5fm’s prime time slot yesterday. He has featured many other local acts such as Floewe, Touch of Soul (TOS), and Msimisi. The artist mentioned that the song was the first track on her mix, which he also said he got to know about on social media as people were asking who had done the hit song. MTN SWAMA Public Relations Officer Bongani Tizalami Dube also shared his excitement and pride in that Eswatini artists were hoisting the country’s flag. He also said the association was proud in that its artists were growing musically. Since the lockdown was put in place, Slotta has been busy in studio, sharpening his skills. He released a song titled ‘Happiness’ which was aired on Trace TV.
