This is this year’s Mr and Miss Intervarsity pageant that is slated to take place on an undisclosed date during the upcoming BOLESWA Intervarsity Games. In memory of the university once known as BOLESWA, which was a mixture of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini, the intervarsity games provide a platform for development of athletes, cultural exchange as well as social interactions. beginning These happen at the beginning of the second semester (between February and March) each year and they rotate among the three countries. This year, the games will be hosted in the country and these will be attended by students from University of Botswana and National University of Lesotho. Unlike in previous years, this most anticipated pageant at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) and the other two tertiary institutions, will be open to all students. revealed This was revealed by UNESWA SRC (Students Representative Council) President Lunga Dlamini. It is worth noting that in the past, the pageants were joined by Mr and Miss UNISWA and their runners-up from the three different institutions. Dlamini said because of the changed calendar, which puts the games before Mr and Miss UNESWA, they were compelled to opt for this new criteria in choosing the king and queen of the BOLESWA games. “All students can join, even the graduating class. elimination “From those who sign up, there will be a team who will facilitate elimination until we find students who will represent Eswatini,” said Dlamini. He said students who would join, would be trained and go through physical fitness classes. In the meantime, Dlamini revealed that one of the three UNESWA campuses would host their Fresher’s Ball on March 9. “We will then host two more Fresher’s Balls after the BOLESWA Intervarsity Games,” he said. The three UNESWA campuses are Kwaluseni, Mbabane and Luyengo.
