Veli Ginindza, who is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is under the Real Kings Bikers Club, won a Yamaha Y6 with 300km/hr speed. He won the sterling grand prize last Saturday during the second night of the Swazi Rally at Riders Ranch in Sidvokodvo, a place which is considered to be a home for bikers. After two lucky draw attempts that were made by the Swazi Rally Pioneer Carlos Paiva and the Head of Wesbank Phumlani Nkambule and Miss Swazi Rally 2018 Thato Tailane, Ginindza’s name was drawn out. After Ginindza’s name was called, he jumped on stage in excitement and called his biking club members to stage to celebrate with him. In a brief interview with this publication, Ginindza said he was not expecting the win but was glad that something good came out of him attending this year’s rally. “I will ride it like I stole it,” said the ultimate winner joyfully. He also revealed that he already owned a Yamaha and was happy that he was welcoming a bike of the same brand. The draw took place at around 8pm and those in attendance assembled in front of the stage hoping to be winners. Others, however, were given awards and recognition by Swazi Rally. Winners of note were Graham Fitzgerald, who was awarded for attending the rally since it was established in 1993. Another award was for the biggest club, which was taken by The Sunriders, which was represented by Joe Ratsawu. The stage was then taken over by DJs who dished out hit songs. In the meantime, there were other DJs spinning the decks throughout the day and night in the marquee, a distance away from the main hall. There was a line-up for performances that were scheduled to take place throughout the day which included the likes of DJ Zulu D and DJ Xtra Luv. Earlier during that evening, the line-up constituted of Country singers Dusty and Stones who performed at 7 pm and stole the show with their sounds of country music blending in well with the fun activities of the night proceedings, a lot of fun lovers that were part of this year’s Swazi Rally could not hold back their excitement as they kept screaming for a repeat to a number of songs that were performed by the country duo.
