Eswatini’s renowned fine and sculpture artist Khulekani Msweli has embarked on a journey of building houses for the less privileged families of the Vuvulane community at Mgidza. The artist, who has toured the world exploring artistry, has targeted building 25 houses and so far, he is on his first house which is set to be complete by end of August. This initiative is also portraying Msweli’s creativity and echo friendliness as he is using environmentally friendly material to build the houses. Msweli, in a brief interview with this publication, said he used hydra form machine to make the mud bricks which were durable and layers easily. “After seeing the dire situation of children and families who barely have a roof over their head, it was inevitable that I assist them. “I am hopeful that entities will join me in housing the community of Vuvulane,” he said.
