Times Of Swaziland: KAGISO MODUPE TO TOUR ESWATINI KAGISO MODUPE TO TOUR ESWATINI ================================================================================ BY NONDUMISO MSIBI on 27/06/2018 03:46:00 MBABANE – Due to the many books being released locally, the future of the youth looks bright. From humble beginnings of packing boxes at Kellogg’s, to selling lollipops at university, to becoming an actor, director, motivational speaker, radio host, brand influencer and musician, Kagiso Modupe has now released his first book. Modupe, who married Liza Lopez, who is a liSwati, will be coming to the country this Thursday June 28 to launch his book titled ‘Along Came Tsakani’ during an event dubbed ‘Lyrical Live Thursdays and book launch’ which is set to take place at Esibayeni Lodge Chill Inn Bar starting from 6pm. Entry will be free and Modupe’s book will be available for purchase. There will also be an after party after the official launch which will take place just after 8pm with live performances from Symphony, Jose and Swazi Bee. Speaking to Modupe, he said that the reason he was launching his book in Eswatini is because he feels Eswatini has since become his second home after he married one of the local girls he had met and got to follow the works of some local artists and authors and he feels he can learn a lot from them and they can learn from him as well. Wisdom Kagiso drew most of his wisdom from his late father who taught him that Johannesburg and Jo’burg were not the same; his euphemism for the difference between good and bad. Kagiso’s path ultimately led him to choose Johannesburg – the good. Over the years, Kagiso Modupe has proven that hardwork does indeed pay off. Not one to let hurdles get in his way, he has dipped his hands into many different ponds. He holds a BSc degree in Sports Science and Human Anatomy and Physiology, but acting is his passion. He first came to fame as Mangi on eTV’s Scandal, a show in which he has engaged over four million South African viewers - and 20 million in the rest of Africa - for the past 11 years. This role opened many doors to other TV shows, films and theatre, including Step Up To A Start Up, The Gift, Gog Helen, The Good Fight, District 6, Sophia Town, Sound of Music, Rented Family, Home Affairs, Grit, and several other upcoming dramas series, including Harvest. In 2017, Kagiso challenged himself to achieve seventeen goals, three of which included recording two songs, hosting a radio show, and writing a book. Each of these goals has propelled his career to new heights and in many exciting directions. Much like everything he touches, his novel entitled Along Came Tsakani is certain to become another one of his success stories. The book tells the story of Muzi, a dependable, helpful, hardworking, loving, and caring family man who finds himself on the other side of fidelity after six years of blissful marriage. Tsakani enters his world and rocks it with her charm, her attentiveness and her tenderness, something that he realises he has been missing at home.
