Award winning local gospel group, Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group have revealed that they will be recording a live DVD and CD. History will be made this September when the Eswatini award winning group records its first live DVD and CD. The group led by Reverend Elias Shongwe will host the recording in Manzini at a venue yet to be confirmed. Shongwe has already met with a number of people who will be involved in the recording to be done in a public arena. Currently, Shongwe is trying to get a proper venue for the recording and hopes to secure it in the next two weeks. Expected in the live DVD is 22 songs. The songs will include some of the group’s hit tracks namely ‘Konkhe Kuhamba Kahle’ and ‘Sokwendza Nje’. “I have never done a live recording ever since I started singing. It will be my first time to be in such a scenario,” said Shongwe. He added, “I want to make sure that it becomes the best DVD that gospel music lovers have ever seen.” He said he would soon be launching the recording saying this will happen once he has finalised with all the necessary people. “This is a huge event and there are a number of things that need to be done. I am still finalising all the logistics and as soon as everything has been finalised, I will be in a position of releasing more information about the show,” he said. He urged gospel music lovers to support the group and this will be through participating in the recording. Ronnie Dlamini, Association of Christian Artists in Swaziland (ACASWA), Public Relations Officer (PRO), said time has come for Shongwe and Khuphuka Saved Group to host a live DVD and CD recording. “Let’s all support Shongwe and Khuphuka. They have made us proud and lets all be proud of what they have done for the country,” he said.
