Times Of Swaziland: LONG WAIT FOR MTN BUSHFIRE ‘CASHLESS-SYSTEM’ CASHOUT LONG WAIT FOR MTN BUSHFIRE ‘CASHLESS-SYSTEM’ CASHOUT ================================================================================ BY PHUMELELE MKHONTA on 05/06/2018 01:04:00 MBABANE – Technological advancements can be accompanied by glitches. The ‘flawless’ cashless system which was introduced by the MTN BUSHFIRE 2018 was impeccable to use during the three-day festival. All one needed to do was load any amount of money and ‘voila’! Every stall you went to had a device where one simply tapped their wristband on, and that exact amount of whatever you were purchasing would be deducted. However, glitches have risen on the issues around getting change back through bank accounts and Mobile Money. This new system was favoured by most when introduced because unlike in past festivals where non-refundable tokens were used, this system assured one of getting whatever cash they did not use back. After receiving SMS notifications on their mobile phones stating that festival goers were eligible to getting their change in their personalised accounts, some have not received the cash nonetheless. Some festival goers, who preferred to remain anonymous, left the ATMs disappointed after not receiving their change from the money that was deposited into their wrist bands during the festival. The SMSes pop up under the Mobile Money MOMO user name whereby the exact amount of change is shown and you are given a short five number pin to use at any Swazi- Bank or Building Society ATM. This applies across the board regardless of whether you have an account at any of these banks or not. It works on the card less system better known as eWallet to most. However, a week later some people are still unable to retrieve their monies as the ATM machines simply read ‘No Available Funds.’
