The fourth edition of the Eswatini Biggest Braai will be launched tomorrow evening at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre, in Manzini, amid pomp and fanfare. In an interview, the chairman of Philani MaSwati Charity Organisation (PMCO) Lutfo Dlamini, said tomorrow’s launch would set the ball rolling towards hosting this year’s event, which has come to be PMCO’s flagship fund-raising initiative. Growing “Tomorrow’s launch marks the start of yet another enthralling journey towards the hosting of the fourth Eswatini Biggest Braai event; a show that has been growing steadily each year. The organising team for this year’s event is already working tirelessly in putting up perhaps what we would like to consider as the biggest of these events thus far,” said Dlamini. Dlamini said ever since the braai event was launched in 2015, over 35 000 people accumulatively have participated. “While we no longer subscribe to the idea of setting up attendance targets due to the charity nature of the event, we, however, anticipate a huge turn out this year given the diversification of activities that will form part of the event,” he said. Consolidating He further said Eswatini Biggest Braai was consolidating its clean reputation as a family event; hence inclusivity has been the thrust of all activities planned for this year. “Inclusivity, in our case, speaks to a programme designed to cater for all age groups, from kindergartens to the elderly, all genders, religions and races. In this regard, we have partnered with several food and beverages service companies who will ensure they provide a wide and diverse selection of dishes and drinks to accompany the braai meat that will be provided to all ticket holders,” added Dlamini. Dlamini said the date, venue, and key attractions of this year’s Eswatini Biggest Braai, which is powered by Tops! SPAR, would be revealed at the launch event tomorrow. The launch, he said, will be attended by invited guests, who include guest of honour Deputy Prime Minister Paul Dlamini, among other dignitaries and stakeholders. Entertain Meanwhile, one of Eswatini’s biggest and most cherished choral groups, the Manzini Choir, is billed to entertain guests at the launch.
